Cham's first dance class (July 11)

She loves her tap shoes. She marches around the house in them and says "I sound like Mommy!" (My heels make the same sound on our tile floors.)

Coming Up: Playdates, parties, and picnics at the beach (if I can convince just one of my wonderful younger cousins to forward me any pictures they took at the beach last Saturday...)

Dare I Say It?

Melon and I dropped the tykes off at school this morning and caught an early showing of HP 5. (For more on this obsession, see Melon's blog).

I may be lynched on the nearest tree "Curious-George-piñata" style for saying this, but HP 5 (don't kill me, book lovers!) works waaaay better on film. To be fair, this wasn't my favorite book in the series anyway (for reasons too many to name). Daniel Radcliffe's Harry is a lot less bitchy than his literary counterpart, the movie action feels more urgent, and overall, it just rocks. Really loved it. One more thing, Helena Bonham Carter is frighteningly good as the evil Bellatrix Lestrange.

WATCH THIS SHOW!

Egger & I went to see this Oz-traveganza on our anniversary, and man, it is a GREAT show. This was actually the second time we had seen it. We bought our tickets for this in April, the night after we saw it the first time (Egger gave me the April tickets for Christmas).

It might just be the delirious joy of having a night out sans kid that made me so giddy. It was wonderful being able to converse with my significant other without having to pause for 3-year-old explanations, especially during dinner. However, once we got to the Pantages and sat, my giddiness could no longer just be attributed to being childless for the evening.

There are so many things that are outstanding in this show: the two dynamic leads, the twist on a beloved story, the girl-power message... what's not to love? I highly recommend scraping together whatever money you have and buying a ticket while the two actresses playing Glinda and the Wicked Witch of the West are still here. If you do, call me up, because I may want to join you!

The Best Thing About Summer

Days at the beach are BA-ACK! We went for a much-needed surf n' turf afternoon last Saturday. I hope to have more photos that look much like these in the hot days to come.
